卡內基美隆大學資科系的教授Randy Pausch罹患了胰臟癌，在他人生的最後一刻站上講台，跟學生以及聽眾分享他這一生 所體會到的經驗，他說：

Brick walls are there for a reason. The brick walls aren’t there to keep us out. The brick walls are there to show us how badly we want things. - Randy
